Senior Producer, Vox Talk Podcasts
A full time position at Vox Media, Washington DC, United States of America
Posted: May 20, 2019
Vox Media is the leading independent modern media company. Known for building the best media brands and the technology that enables them, we are committed to building a better future for the industry — and getting the future of media right. Vox Media’s editorial networks include Vox, The Verge, SB Nation, Eater, Polygon, Recode, and Curbed. Our diverse storytelling and advertising businesses include the Concert publisher-led marketplace, the Vox Creative brand studio, the Chorus publishing platform, and the company’s entertainment division Vox Media Studios, which includes the Vox Media Podcast Network and Epic.
The Senior Producer will oversee Vox and Recode’s conversation shows The Ezra Klein Show, Pivot, Recode Decode with Kara Swisher, Recode Media, The Weeds, Worldy, and any other new interview or roundtable shows that we develop.
In this role, the Senior Producer will partner with the editorial director of Vox podcasts, newsroom leadership and show hosts to assess their podcasts' vision and mission, refresh and strengthen their programming, and implement plans for ongoing improvement and audience growth. The senior producer will work with the show’s producer and audience engineers to make such the show is produced at a high level. The Senior Producer will also be responsible for curating audience metrics and editorial insights and communicating them back to the host in a regular feedback loop
This role would benefit from experience working in broadcast TV or radio, or conversation-based podcasts. Experience overseeing show launches, revamps and high-profile hosts would also be valuable. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and ability to pivot quickly are also key qualities we’re seeking.
Above all else, we’re looking for someone with their pulse on the next interesting thing in policy, politics, and technology. You should know who our hosts should be talking to, what issues are just about to bubble up in policy and technology circles, and you should care deeply about helping our audience understand complex ideas.
