Podcast Assistant

Here at Somethin’ Else, we’re rapidly expanding our original podcast output.

We’re currently looking for a Podcast Assistant to work on our narrative podcasts. Over the last year, our factual team has been responsible for such recent hit podcast series as The Sun King with David Dimbleby, Unheard: The Fred and Rose West Tapes, and Putin: Prisoner of Power.

The successful candidate will join this fast-growing department, working alongside a team of producers and executive producers.

This is an entry level role with opportunity for progression, suitable for someone who wants to build a career in factual narrative podcasts.

We’re looking for someone who can play a pivotal role in our team, assisting with scheduling, delivery and project management across our narrative factual podcasts. There will also be plenty of opportunities to develop production skills, from research and development to recording interviews and editing. This is a full time role.

Responsibilities will include:

-Supporting producers and execs in general podcast production -Delivering final audio and completing associated paperwork. -Liaising with our production management team -Working with internal and external teams to coordinate post production, social media, artwork and PR. -Maintaining audio archive -Co-ordinating tape syncs and transcriptions

The ideal candidates will have:

-Evidence of active interest in radio, podcasting or other audio work. -Experience in working across multiple projects and juggling competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. -Experience of researching and developing ideas. -A love of audio, wide ranging podcast/radio listening habits and a desire to develop audio production skills. -A particular interest in long form narrative storytelling.
