Podcast Media Supervisor
A full time position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Oxford Road.
Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience
THE ROLE
Oxford Road is looking for a Podcast Supervisor’s (PS), whose main objective is to generate consistent and profitable podcast revenue growth for clients and the agency. The PS achieves this and a competitive advantage for our clients by securing podcast inventory with outstanding pricing, timing, and performance. The PS allocates and manages both media and internal resources to ensure that revenue is growing, client objectives are reached, and outstanding client service is delivered efficiently.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
- Sees that all media requests within the designated channel and for direct reports are acted upon as promptly and accurately as possible. Helps the team prioritize work accordingly.
- Manage and support direct reports to ensure the team operates smoothly and ensure timely completion and quality control of projects. Address any performance issues accordingly.
- Assist Media Director and VP Media in providing formal training of all subordinates.
- Develops, reviews, and presents data-driven media plans for clients and prospects based on advertising objectives and in accordance to the planning process. This includes using all necessary sources of client, media, and market information and research. Always have an answer to ‘why?’
- Promptly address client requests, e.g. for plan creation or changes, marketplace information, etc.
- Maintain deep marketplace & competitive knowledge in order to promote opportunities to account directors and clients.
- Is at all times, alert to new media and new methods of using existing media and new trends, opportunities, or rate changes, informs the Media Director, VP, Media of such developments.
- Monitor and identify unique opportunities for revenue growth and market awareness as to respond quickly to the dynamic marketplace and client needs, react to competitive pressures and dynamics, and identify new and changing market opportunities.
- Create and nurture excellent media relationships to enhance buying influence, performance, and agency reputation to further the mutual interest of the agency and its clients.
- Exceed client KPIs by extracting maximum possible value from partners’ media assets. Track rate trends.
- Contribute thought leadership to agency-published material.
- Keeps VP, Media informed on all departmental activities, including any errors and specific RFPs
Experience & Skills Needed
5+ years of experience in audio planning and buying, or sales Experience with Direct Response / Performance Marketing Excellent written and oral communication Proficiency in media management software (Strata preferred, alternatively Core or Advantage) Proven track record of negotiation success Strong analytical and planning skills Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with vendors, clients, and colleagues 2+ years’ experience in managing a (small) team Ability to learn quickly Able to multi-task and handle fast-paced, demanding environments Demonstrated Excel proficiency
