You will keep the trains running: organize the production process, help set schedules, keep track of budgets and costs, solve problems, and spot ways where we could be more efficient in our work. We create distinctive podcasts and audio content that expand the boundaries of what others think is possible. We are a boutique production house and consulting company, built intentionally on an intimate scale. In all of our work we form creative alliances, collaborating as trusted partners to make very singular projects. We produce projects that people talk about. Our projects help listeners see the world in a different way. Our work sparks conversations we all need to be having.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION This is not an entry level position.

The Production Manager is a central role on a small team at Magnificent Noise who together produce iconic podcasts designed to be innovative and reach large audiences. Top candidates for this role will be quick thinkers with strong experience in all aspects of project management, including goal setting, budgeting, project reporting, and leadership. Managing all communication with Magnificent Noise management and our production partners proactively and clearly is essential, as is a solid knowledge of podcasting or audio storytelling and experience working with creative talent. A flexible, iterative mindset and a strong work ethic are important.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and track project performance, including setting timelines, activities, benchmarks, and metrics aligned with project goals. Manage project workflow. Manage costs, payments, and budget. Establishing reporting systems that can be accessed “on demand” and in real time by management and production partners. Collaborates with other producers and editors at Magnificent Noise and our partners to ensure productions remain on scope, on time, and on budget. Oversee logistics related to the project. Coordinate internal resources as well as third parties contractors and vendors for flawless execution. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Anticipate hurdles and problems, then work with team members to address them. Other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES At least 3-5+ years of project management and/or production management. Administrative experience working in a fast-paced media environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage by influence. Start-up or small company experience. Deep interest and knowledge in podcasting and digital audio. Demonstrated ability with budgeting and cost analysis. Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure. Thrives in a team-focused environment. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

LOCATION Our preference for this position is for someone from the greater New York area working in our Manhattan office 2-3 days a week, but will consider a fully-remote employee with exceptional skill.

EXPECTED SALARY RANGE The salary band for a Production Manager at Magnificent Noise is $75,000 USD to $100,000 USD.
