Junior Audio Editors
A full time Audio Editor position at History Hit, London, UK
Our History Hit Team are looking for two full time Junior Audio Editors to work across our podcast and audio network, focussing on our specialist history output. These are excellent opportunities for someone who wants to get into podcasting but may be new to the industry or is looking to take a next step.
History Hit is the UK’s biggest digital history brand across podcasts, Video on Demand, social media and the web, with more than 100,000 subscribers to its TV and audio networks. Its podcast network, including Dan Snow’s History Hit, averages around 4.5 million listens a month.
History Hit is part of Little Dot Studios, one of the world’s fastest growing next-generation media companies. Little Dot Studios’ digital history brands Timeline and Absolute History already generate more than 650,000 unique video views a day, with Timeline amassing 2m subscribers on YouTube alone.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME
Taking ownership for editing and publishing History Hit podcasts Working with the producer and talent to create the best possible content Collaborating on new podcast formats and pilots Researching and preparing for podcasts Overseeing the promotion of published podcasts, collaborating with the marketing team
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.
Experience of recording and editing audio/podcasts A demonstratable knowledge and enthusiasm for history Able to troubleshoot and find solutions for audio issues Knowledge of music and SFX libraries, along with asset management Understanding of Adobe Audition and Premiere Desire to learn and take on feedback Excellent time keeping and ability to stick to deadlines Good people skills DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Passion and understanding of podcasts Qualification in audio production (desirable but not essential) or experience of publishing your own podcasts. Social media publishing experience
