What is Glow?

Glow’s mission is to create a world where content earns its value. We aim to empower podcasters to create media businesses, beginning with direct revenue from their listeners. Glow’s first product is the simplest solution for listeners to pay podcasters for premium content. A listener can subscribe to a premium podcast in under 15 seconds, right from the podcast player of their choice.

Podcasting is the fastest growing medium in the world. There are 750,000 podcasts today, and one in three Americans listen to podcasts regularly. Yet many podcasters lack a way to create a direct relationship with their listeners, and want solutions to offer premium content and take data-driven approaches to growing their podcasts. We are building Glow to enable podcasters to grow their content, audience, and revenue. We intend to help podcasters thrive making a living doing what they love, and to create a sustainable model for high-quality content.

Glow is a spinout of Pioneer Square Labs, and funded by a group of top-tier investors spanning technology, media, and music. They include Greycroft, Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest Steve Fund, Jeffrey Katzenberg’s WndrCo, and musical artist Nas.

What is the role?

We are looking for a curious and passionate part-time designer on contract to help drive our user experience and marketing design. We are expecting 10-20 hours per week. You will be a partner with our product and engineering team to design elegant interfaces for podcasters to design and manage their membership programs. You will innovate on experiences that listeners use to learn about and sign up for those programs. And, you will help us evangelize our mission to help creators thrive, on our website and through marketing channels. The role is 75% UX/UI design, and 25% brand and marketing -- though as with any early-stage startup the balance is subject to change.

You will be with us throughout our journey, working on everything from figuring out the unsaid needs of our customer to styling a new button on in the podcaster experience. Sometimes you’ll have a lot of direction; others, you’ll just be given a vague idea of needs to be accomplished, and it’ll be your job to run with it.
