Web Application Developer II
A full time position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at AdvertiseCast.
Job Summary
Designs, develops, and maintains internal and external websites for Libsyn. Uses knowledge of common web development languages to build and expand site functionality. Creates and enhances the overall website appearance using graphic/multimedia design software and designs site navigation that is clear and easy to understand. Ensures sites remain scalable while complying with performance and security standards. Updates site content based on input from marketing and documents changes in source code.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborating with management and departments to identify end-user needs
- Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new programs and systems
- Develop separate elements of software that work well with the program as a whole
- Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
- Ensure continued functionality during testing, deployment and maintenance of software
- Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
- Developing technical documentation to guide future software maintenance and development

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 2-4 years of web application development or related experience
- Proficiency in popular coding languages including PHP 5.6 or greater, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and SQL
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line, REST architecture and OAuth
- Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping frameworks
- Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Education and Experience
- Knowledge of MVC frameworks (especially Zend/Laminas Framework)
- Knowledge of User interface development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, ReactJS
- Knowledge of Third-party API integration (REST, XML-RPC)
- Familiarity with social media platforms and mobile applications
- Familiarity with PCI compliance and best practices
- Experience with WordPress Plugin development
- Experience with mobile application development (iOS and Android)
- Experience with Braintree payments API
- Experience with test-driven development practices
